Yesterday was the first day of the new year. But for me, it was day 0. Day 0 was about resting, reflecting, and aligning myself for a successful year ahead.
My goals for this year are a bit more pointed and focused than previous years. This is not to say that I was running around scatterbrained last year, but rather, last year was about getting established. Now that I feel I have a good, stable foundation, it is time to build.
This year is going to be solely focused on my health – not a new job, new car, new house, or a new college course. I’m not talking about just my physical health, either. I am working toward being the best version of myself, which means all aspects of my being need to be considered.
For my mental health, I am meditating every day. So far this has been going MUCH easier than I thought, as I did not realize that you can meditate in as little as 5 minutes. I have been using Headspace for it, and am currently on the free “basics” meditations. Unfortunately today was the last “day” (even though I can go back and do them again) so I might end up going for the full app. If I do, I’ll be sure to write about it here.
For my spiritual and physical health, I am doing yoga. I have always found myself feeling more connected with yoga, and also feel it would be a wonderful way to ease into the new year. I am doing Yoga with Adriene’s Dedicate: 30 Days of Yoga. I’ve tried doing the 30 days of yoga before but never fully got through. This time I’m committed to finish.
I am also going to be following the 2B Mindset for my physical health. I did not focus on it very much this past December because of the holidays, but now that they are over and I am quite sick of feeling like garbage, I am ready to go full swing.
Eventually I’ll probably do Country Heat and LIIFT4 for physical exercise, but for right now, yoga and eating better for January sounds wonderful to me.
What are your goals?
